Our first stay in Tahiti was at Hotel Tahara’a, which apparently no longer exists. Looking across the bay to Papeete, the capital city of French Polynesia.

In 1987 we stopped in Tahiti on our way home after our two-year posting to Canberra. Needless to say, it was quite a change from Australia and a pleasant interlude before facing life in Washington, DC.
