Queenie is watching Mary (far down the sidewalk), the beloved cookie lady of Lincoln Park, walk back home. Andrew and Queenie ran into Mary, who proceeded to give Queenie the special treats that she never gets during the week since Tim can’t take her to the park when Mary’s there, at 7:30 a.m. Needless to say, Queenie adores Mary and goes crazy if she catches sight of her.

The other week, before Andrew knew who Mary was, Queenie saw her in the street and really, really wanted to go visit with her, but Andrew wouldn’t go along with it since he didn’t know what she was so excited (or agitated) about. I emailed Mary and told her how disappointed Queenie was, so she walked over to our house (which she’s never done before) just to give Queenie the treats she had missed out on. I was pretty impressed, and Queenie was delighted.
