Fokker FVIIb Southern Cross Replica

Shellharbour Airport, NSW, Australia view map

Q3026148BWResize.jpg

This is a replica of the aircraft that made the first flight across the Pacific Ocean from US to Australia in 1928. This aircraft has been under restoration since 2002 following a landing incident where the wing was broken and an engine damaged.

I have removed any links to 2024 apart from the urban sprawl, although a quick look may reveal something I missed.
However, an almost 100 year improvement in photographic technology where there is no chemical "noise" or grain and modern optics improve image quality greatly and the 35mm equivalent 600mm long focal length lens was not available to amateur or press photographers

Looks like 1928 Russ, she's a beauty, glad they got it in the air again.
