My son made this for me when he was about ten (with the help of his mother, who bought the clock). Knowing what a fan I am of the only sport that is superior to real football (the kind played with the feet and a round ball), he painted this and gave it to me for my birthday.

Yes, this is cricket. When Americans ask me to explain it to them, I say it's the adult version of baseball. :) Actually, my wife learned to love it when she visited England and went to a match (it's a cricket match, not game) with me, my father, grandfather, and brother, who all explained it to her. My brother is now a professional cricket commentator, working for the BBC. A cricket match can take many forms. The highest level, played between nations, can last 5 days. But there are various shorter versions, including one that takes barely longer than a baseball game. Alastair
