16 Stowaway Gargoyle

Denver International Airport

We were at Denver International Airport for a flight to Phoenix, heading to the security checkpoint, when I noticed this fellow up on a pillar. I made my wife stop while I took my camera out to get a picture of him. DIA is famous for weird sculptures, with the most notorious one being the demon bronco with the glowing red eyes that you drive past when you arrive at or leave the airport. That sculpture killed its creator. I don't think this one did anything so drastic. At least, I haven't read about it doing that. Incidentally, the weather in Scottsdale, where we were at a Franciscan retreat center for a theatre conference, was wet, cold, and windy. Really Jim, couldn't you have arranged more welcoming Arizonan conditions?

Hi Traveller, I mean the sculpture literally killed its creator. Here's the story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Mustang
Apparently, it's a mustang. I always think of it as a bronco, because of the Denver Broncos. Though, I suppose, a mustang can be a bronco as well.

Being an artsy guy...what do you mean, "That sculpture killed its creator. I don't think this one did anything so drastic."

What does this mean? How did he die? Hummmmm.....Why? (did he have to die for his art?)

Best Wishes, Traveller
