Hanging Out

At Home

January 22
I feed 3 opposums every evening. Today, one of them decided to came by, mid-afternoon.
I guess the dark, rainy weather made it seem later and safer to come out for a snack.
He helped himself to the peanuts from my squirrel feeder, via the top of the back fence. He used his tail to get down and steady himself.
Photo taken through a screened window, but yes it was quite dark for afternoon.

I'd be surprised to see one in the daylight. I guess it was hungry! Around here they have a tendency to den under houses. The smell permeates the crawl space then seeps into the house. No one likes them and the joke around here is it's better than having skunks.
