Archduke Charles

My Back Yard, Sugar Land Texas

January 12
Same shrub as yesterday's rose buds photo. I planted this rose in 1997 and it is 8 feet tall.
One of my favorites, it is a thornless China rose bred by Dubourg (France, circa 1825) and
introduced in France by Jean Laffay in circa 1825 as Archduke Charles

it is downright vivacious, but then it's uppercrust with a name like that..
