I got to pawing through my photos today looking for nothing in particular. I have a smart collection that is all the photos I have dated January 1, 1900. What's that all about? Well, when I am scanning slides and pictures for which I don't know the date I assign 1/1/1900 so I can find them. So I was going through that collection and came upon today's photo. It was scanned from a very faded original. I wanted to see if I could figure out the date, so I called in Ginny. After a little thinking and noting there was a touch of pink left in her dress, she figured it was from rush week at the sorority. It was a dress all the sisters wore during that week. So I got an approximate date and changed the date in the metadata. Then I got to thinking about fixing it up because it is one of the photos of Ginny that I really like. Sharpen it up with Topaz and convert to B&W. I wanted a little more character so I tried a bunch of the Lightroom toners and came back to sepia as the nicest. So here it is.
