A Peaceful Local Scene

It has been a rough week for us here.
Saying goodbye to Della was so very difficult.
Like everything else in her life Della said goodbye with grace and dignity.
She let us know when it was time and passed away peacefully in her own bed, in her own home.
Right after that Charlie had to have a knee replacement.
The good news is the surgery went well and he is doing fine.
I have a lot to be grateful for.
Here is a scene from one of our local beaches.
My friend Liz and I were down there with the dogs a few weekends ago.

A serene scene that must be filled with good memories. As time passes & the pain of loss somewhat fades, your memories of Della and the boys having once played here will be happy ones. Your furkids will always be with you in spirit. Sorry to hear about Charlie needing surgery, but also happy that his surgery went well. Everyone I know, who has had knee surgery, have said that their lives greatly improved from having the surgery. Healing thoughts to both Charlie and you in this sad time of having had to say goodbye to Della. Time will gradually lessen the pain of loss. Then, this scene will bring back only good memories. I agree. Although all too brief, you were indeed blessed to have been able to share your life with Della. And you are blessed that Charlie and you are at each other's sides.

peaceful indeed, but with a feeling of emptiness without Della, and Tug for that matter, romping through this scene...walking here with Charlie, once he is fully recovered, just won't be the same..
