The first church of Sant Pere i sant Pau (Saint Peter and Saint Paul) was built in 1410-1445, due to a growing congregation of Algaida.
The current church, built in Gothic style with some Baroque influences, was built in 16th/17th centuries on the ruins of the previous one.
Algaida is a small, charming township, located in the south-east of the island of Mallorca. It was first recorded in 1232.
Algaida's economy was based on agriculture from the 14th to the mid 20th century, when tourism and small industries took over.
