Algaida is a small, charming township, located in the south-east of the island of Mallorca. It was first recorded in 1232.
Algaida's economy was based on agriculture from the 14th to the mid 20th century, when tourism and small industries took over.
The activity of the town is concentrated at its main square, known as Sa Placa.
