The hairs certainly make it look used. Is the metal showing signs of wear? What kind of caustic soaps are you using?

That's correct, Paul, and there is a curb. I wish I could go back in time and request the shower floor be sloped more steeply (maybe just ½ a degree?) toward the drain.
