This is one of our favorite locations for sunrise photography in the Smoky Mountains and we try to visit this location at least once every visit to the park. For our past two trips to the Smoky Mountains we have stayed on the Cherokee, North Carolina side of the park due to the insane amount of traffic on the Gatlinburg side of the park especially during the peak fall colors.
