The parish church of Sant Martí d'Empúries is located within the old town of Sant Martí d'Empúries, in the middle of the Plaza Mayor, and built on the remains of the medieval castle moat.It is a late Gothic building that began in 1507 (as indicated by one of the tombstones on the façade) and was completed around 1538. Previously there was a Romanesque church, but it is not possible to ensure that it was in the same place. It consists of a single nave and on the façade there is a rose window and a pointed arch doorway. The ornamentation is very worn.
