Bodie State Historic Park

view map

Went to visit this ghost town, north of Mono Lake.

Bodie began as a mining camp, which boomed in 1876 with the discovery of gold ore.

It became a sizable community, booming from late 1877 to late 1880.

So neat that there is this piece of history to explore on the hike.

Perhaps miners from the 1850's gold rush in my home town who came here returned and began looking at Bodie..A nice look into the past.
