Travis Kelce: Vaccine Believer 10-06-23

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Travis Kelce had a response for New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who called the Kansas City Chiefs tight end “Mr. Pfizer” earlier this week.

“Who knew I’d get into the vax wars with Aaron Rodgers?” Kelce said

Rodgers gave Kelce the nickname during his weekly appearance on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.” He was discussing the Chiefs’ victory over Rodgers’ Jets on Sunday Night Football.

Kelce has partnered with the pharmaceutical company to promote its COVID-10 and flu vaccines in commercials.

“I got (the vaccine), keeping myself safe, keeping my family safe, the people in this building,” Kelce said. “Yes, I stand by it, 1,000 percent. I’m fully comfortable with him calling me Mr. Pfizer.”

Hurray for Travis Kelce!!!

Meanwhile, Rodgers has been critical of the COVID-19 vaccine in the past. He even lied about getting the shot.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is advising everyone to get their flu and COVID-19 vaccine shots in a commercial that aired during the team's game against the New York Jets on Sunday in New Jersey.

In the commercial — part of a paid partnership with Pfizer — a pharmacist asks Kelce if he knows that he can get this season’s COVID-19 shot at the same time as the flu shot.

“Huh, two things at once,” responds Kelce before the scene shifts to the athlete performing two tasks at the same time, like barbecuing while mowing the lawn and ordering two menu items at a restaurant.

In the video's final shot, Travis, 33, holds his fist out to show his two diamond-studded Super Bowl rings — from 2020 and 2023 — proclaiming “two things at once.”

“That’s not two things at once,” his mom, Donna Kelce, says, causing Travis to whine, “Mom!”

The Pfizer ad isn't the first time Kelce has tried to spread awareness about public health. In June 2021, he partnered with Walgreens for its "This is Our Shot" campaign to encourage people to get the vaccine.

Smart man!

Aaron Rodgers is too young to realize why he doesn't know someone with polio. I notice he does wear a helmet and a cup, guess some science is okay for him to believe in.... Jerk !
