Motorcycle convoy preparing to depart Kuching, riding across Sarawak to celebrate the state's 60th Freedom Day

Once the private fiefdom of a British adventurer, 'White Rajah' James Brooke, Sarawak today is a state within the Federation of Malaysia. Its population is an eclectic mix of Malaysia's 3 main strands, plus a colourful collection of indigenous peoples, including the Iban and the Melanau.
