Northern Hairstreak pupae & larva

Two chrysales (below), and caterpillar (above), Jalmenus eichhorni, Lycaenidae.
These are attended by Iridomyrmex ants. The butterfly is "obligately myrmecophilous", meaning it will only breed with the support of ants, in this butterfly species only Iridomyrmex ants.
