The Jan Hus Monument stands at the center of Old Town Square
in Prague, Czech Republic. Hus was a Czech religious reformist who
was burned at the stake in 1415 for opposing the Catholic Church's
practice of accepting cash payments to cover past and future sins.
Hus is considered to be one of the early founders of Protestantism.
