Petra is an agricultural town with less than 3000 inhabitants, in the middle of the island of Mallorca.
This sleepy town is best known for being the birthplace (in 1713) of a famous missionary, evangelist of Upper California, Brother Juniper Serra.
He founded the first mission in San Diego de Alcala in 1769 and eight other missions, that gave start to big cities like San Diego or San Francisco.
