The Flurer Tower , a picturesque quarry stone round tower with a half-timbered top, was once the home of the Flurer who, as a field gunner, was entrusted with protecting the surrounding fields from thieves. From the tower he could also watch the herds of cattle grazing outside the city walls. In case of defense, the tower was an important bulwark, through its keyhole slits one fired at attackers with heavy arquebuses.Today the tower serves as a second home and is often used for celebrations in a historical setting.
