Crocodile warning, a bit late

I saw this sign right after I had waded across a river (or creek, not sure what it was) to get a picture of the small tour bus we were on as it drove through the water. Odd that the driver didn’t warn me.

I don't recognise this river. I'd treat any river (and any other waterbody) in the lowlands hereabouts with a great deal of caution.
