The Bisbee Breakfast Club

Tucson, AZ

I was meeting up with a friend for coffee and choose the Bisbee Breakfast Club as they offered a Rueben. There are several locations in Tucson- this was the one on Ina Road. The $14.29 Rueben is served with a choice of sides- I picked the Home Fries. A few sliced pickle chips were served on a piece of lettuce (could have done without the lettuce). Thething that I noticed with my first bite was that it was just a tad salty. I don’t recall experiencing that before with a Reuben. It was not like they got carried away with the salt, it was just that there was a tiny bit too much, IMHO. The corned beef was oh so tender- but there should have been more of it for that price. The marbled ryebread was toasted just right. Their Rueben sauce was pretty nondescript, and there should have been more use of Swiss cheese and sauerkraut. The pickle chip tasted ok for what it was, and the home fries were OK. I hate to say this, but my overall impression was that it was geared towards an older crowd who like blander food- it had a lot of potential, but I am going to give it a “C-”.

Looks better than any Reuben I've had around here so far, Scott. Too bad it didn't taste as good as it looks.
V -for your professional review. :)

Looks good but since you gave it a C- it may not be as good as it looks. ~V~

I must admit this Reuben appears rather appetizing and beautifully presented. Truly surprising that it fell short of a higher grade.
Of course, your discerning taste and expertise are undeniable, Scott.....V

I get it! When they skimp on the ingredients just enough to notice it a bad sign! Sounds like a C-. They can do better! If they toasted the bread just right then they can get the rest of it right! V

This Reuben does look really nice and well presented, shame it only got a 'C', Scott.V
