I have collected quite a few photos of one of my very favorite birds, the Great Blue Heron. This shot shows why. It is a very large bird with a six foot wingspan and so beautiful in the air. They build huge nests in trees locally and never fail to impress. I have seen them in so many situations, nest building, fishing, grooming, fighting over fish or a mate, slowly and gracefully gliding through the air, and very big flocks of them landing in a local pond. Very entertaining to me!
