06 Hummingbird at 5000mm

Boulder, CO

This is a 100% crop from a shot with my R7 with 100-400 plus 1.4X extender. The focal length was 560mm, which is full frame equivalent of 900mm. This crop is about 1:5.5, which gives this shot a full frame equivalent of about 5000mm! I've put (a downsized version of) the full frame in Pending, so you can see how small this was in the viewfinder. I used DXO Photolab to generate a cropped DNG from the RAW, which I then processed in Topaz AI, and finished off in Lightroom. The combination of modern cameras and lenses and software does allow shooting from very far away!

I’m late to the red throat party but I’m beyond impressed with the detail of this especially with the shooting parameters. You got 4 excellent’s, “your going to Hollywood”. Oops wrong tv show. Paul
