Sineu is a small rural town in central Mallorca, but once it was one of the most important towns on the island.
During the time of King Jaume II a palace was built in Sineu, which later was a residence of many Mallorcan kings.
As early as 1300, the town of Sineu took the title of Pueblo Real (Royal Town).
The parish church of Our Lady of the Angels, built in 16th century in Gothic style, is one of the most iconic buildings in the town.
It is so vast, with an impressive 7-level bell tower, that it can be seen from the surrounding countryside.
