An ironic picture of the visitors to a racetrack. Veliefendi Circuit (Veliefendi Hipodromu in Turkish) is a horse racing track located in Veliefendi district, Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul. It is the oldest and largest racecourse in the country. It is a farm once belonging to eyhülislam Veliyüddin Efendi, a top authority of Islam in the 18th century of the Ottoman Empire. The track was built in the years 1912-1913 by German specialists on the initiative of Enver Pasha. In editing I think some slight elongating took place, but I let it be in view of the character of the painting.
