Ross Castle, built in 1883-85 by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Company,
who were keen to develop Cleethorpes into a popular holiday destination. The idea behind building
the castle was that, after buying a train ticket to get to Cleethorpes, visitors would spend a little
more money with the rail company to visit the castle, as well!
