Belted Kingfisher

Belted Kingfishers are difficult subjects to capture, for me anyway! So I was pleased in the past to see this one on such an interesting perch. I think it is a perfect one.

What a good photo of it! They are definitely difficult to get close to. We have them visit our pond at times, but I've never gotten a photo of one.

Super, Vern! Very well captured. They are indeed so very shy. Looks like a male to me (without the chestnut band). This is one to be proud of for sure! :)
