In 1884, the 'Molen van Nijs', one of the most elegant windmills in Weert, was built on the Hoogenakker in the hamlet of Vrakker.
The mill was named St. Oda, after Saint Odilia, who is worshiped in a chapel in Boshoven. Until 2002, millers of the Weerter miller family Nijs always grinded on the mill.
The Odamolen, beautifully situated along the Zuid Willemsvaart, was known as a busy mill. Finally, however, this company also ceased: in 2002,
the last milling operation was carried out. After that, the mill changed hands several times, which did not benefit the mill's condition.
