I'm not an apple grower but there are eight old trees scattered about our property.
Depending on the yield, we use some fruit but leave much for the deer and other wildlife.
Wednesday night, at the height of blossom time, we had a hard freeze with temps falling as low as 23F (-5c).
Pretty much all of the blossoms were destroyed, except for this small tree tucked away at the perimeter of the yard and sheltered by surrounding forest.
Somehow it survived the frost and, more remarkably, the hard freeze.
