Domplatz
The cathedral square is not only a superlative square and unique in Europe because of its size of more than 14,000 m˛.Its aesthetics, characterized by its central location in the heart of the city and the massive and small-scale architecture from different building epochs surrounding it, but also the functionality of the square justify this statement. After all, the cathedral square combines a successful symbiosis between the diverse history of Erfurt, which has become stone, with the most diverse facets of everyday and intellectual and cultural life in a modern city. The "Green Pharmacy" from the 18th century and the "Haus zur Hohe Lilie" (1538), one of the best examples of Erfurt Renaissance masters, are particularly noteworthy in terms of architectural history.
