I was able to plant half of the new plants I just got today.
They're now all lined up above while I wait for them to adjust to the shock of being shipped and transplanted. Next week, I will eventually move the different pots to where I really plan to keep them on the deck. I think these starter plants look pretty good. So, I expect success and lots of pretty flowers.
For me, Spring/Summer season this year has NOW finally & officially started. Getting summertime plants potted up for the season is an accomplishment. The weather has been so up and down (20 degrees one day and 90 degrees the next) that - otherwise - Spring 2023 really hasn't felt a lot like Spring so far.
We also planted 3 tomato plants in pots today to grow on our smaller upper deck.

Sadly, I lost all (but 4) of my older Petunia plants that I tried to winter-over from 2022. Most made it until March (with some actually flowering indoors during the coldest months), but then, they just gave up... I guess keeping them in too low of light in the living room might have been their downfall.
The 4 survivors (not in the photo above) are plants that had been left out in the colder (but brighter) Solar Room. I was able to keep that small number close enough to the space heaters that they didn't freeze to death when the tempts dropped to freezing inside. Although considered an "annual", one is several years old! All 4 of those petunias are again densely covered in flowers and growing fast. I'm not sure if I'll eventually put them out on the deck this year, or if I'll just leave them where they now are. Three summered outside in 2022 and one remained in the Solar Room.
I reused the pots (from the old petunias-no-longer-with-us) for the above new plants. This is a fresh start. Some of my new plants are repeat varieties from last Summer. Some are new to me this year.
