A walled fortress with the Santuari de Sant Salvador are the icons of Arta, a small town at the North East of Mallorca.
It is located atop a hill and was built on the site of a 10th century Moorish stronghold and Mosque.
The walls were constructed in 14th century to protect the town from invaders and pirates.
The main tower of St. Michael - Torre de Sant Miguel. At its foot there is a monument to the victims of the civil war.
