We left Pendleton, OR about 8:00. Topped off the tank with gas because gas in Washington is very expensive. I figure that we might just be able to complete our time in Washington without buying gas. We'll see. Our stop today was for an afternoon with friends Lynne and Gene who live on Lake Sammamish in Redmond, WA. Ginny and Lynne were classmates at Oregon State. Been friends for over 50 years. We had a nice lunch and the girls spent hours talking. Gene and I figured it was a draw about who talked the most.
One thing that really caught my fancy was their garden kaleidoscope. I had never seen anything like this. The way it works is you spin the bowl and look through the telescope. It was terrific. Here is what it looked like.
