Typecosmic

Usually it's the words that are important in a book.
However, in this book I picked up in a charity shop, it's the type itself.
Thought 'Typecosmic' published by the Institute of Typography Engineering Research might be of interest to my son who studied print-making as part of his art degree.
In the meantime it has come in useful on a day when I hadn't taken a photo before dark.

I remember back in my salad days I loved exploring the optimal typefaces and fonts for a document in desktop publishing applications.
Then damn near everything went onto a screen and it barely seemed to matter any more.
(Or more precisely the rules changed and attractive, curving fonts became a liability more than an option.)
It's nice to see the old ways are still somewhat preserved.
