The Obligatory Under the Pier Photo

Brighton, South Australia

We will be moving house in a few weeks, closer to Brighton Beach and this pier.
I have never been to Brighton in the UK, so not sure how they compare...

Great tunneling effect and love the shadow. Being closer will give you a chance to photograph it in lots of different light.

I suspect the water may be a little warmer there. A great POV, Bill. It will be nice moving close to the ocean. V

It's considerably warmer, and considerably sunnier than the UK one, I guarantee it. There is ALSO one in NSW, from which you can watch planes take off from Sydney Airport on runway 34L across the water.

{Snarling, deep voice...} Planes that are going to Rome. Without me. The sodding things... {/Snarling, deep voice...} Oh wait, was that bit out loud?

Also the Brighton one in SA is just under 4 klicks south of Somerton Beach, where there tend to be more mysteriously unidentified-for-half-a-century bodies than you're apt to find in the UK version of Brighton. (Look up the "Somerton Man case" for details.)
