Today started out with an "Aw Sh!t". I got in the van to head out to the airport and there was an unusual noise coming from under the hood. The battery idiot light was also illuminated. I got a volt meter and a flashlight and looked into it. The voltages were irregular and the alternator was getting hot. I called the world's best repair station (Ash Automotive) and he said bring it in. As soon as I pulled out of the driveway, the light went off and noise stopped. I pressed on and agreed to have the alternator replaced. I don't remember if it was OE, but at 211,000 miles, I figured a new one would be a good idea especially because we have a couple long road trips coming up soon. Hopefully we get it back today, but tomorrow for sure.
