Looking Backward.

Bakong.

Every trip is an experience. Every trip is an enrichment. This trip to Angkor we had undertaken with some fears as to the state in which we would discover the site and in particular the Apsaras. Today, in our memory, this trip remains as one of the most beautiful that we have accomplished. From the moment we set foot in Siem Reap on a warm December evening, everything followed happily. It was not a car that the hotel had sent to pick us up at the airport but a kind of motorized rickshaw driven by «Mister Brown» which was going to prove to be the most available and the most friendly of drivers. The hotel we booked on the Internet «Les Mystères d’Angkor» was a superb traditional Khmer house transformed into a lodge and nestled in a tropical garden. The Khmer cook concocted a local cuisine so tasty and full of exotic flavors that we had trouble going to dinner elsewhere. Finally, discovering all these extraordinary sites at our own pace, establishing each evening with Mr Brown our program for the next day, was a real delight.
