St. Matthews Lutheran Church

Charleston, South Carolina

St. Matthew's Lutheran Church was founded in 1840 by a group of Germans who wished to worship in their native language and came to this location on King Street in 1872.
One day as I was walking by, there was an Octoberfest celebration going on in the front courtyard to the right of the entrance. It looked like a fun event but I didn't go as there was a fee to get in.

a fine shot...that's a pointy building, even the pitch of the roof...Octoberfest sounds more fun that a church service, and probably more enlightening..
