Cleaning 1920.

Envahissement.

Ta Prohm. XII century.

When they came to decide the future of Ta Prohm completely engulfed in its vegetable gangue, the administrators of Angkor Vat decided to clear the temple only partially so that the visitors could have an idea of the state of the site after several centuries of plant invasion. They cleared the temple, leaving the kapok trees* standing between the stones as giant anacondas strangling their prey.
(*) Ceiba pentandra, a large tropical tree native to Java.
