Casa Navàs is, without any doubt, the jewel of modernist architecture in the city of Reus, an emblematic and unique building that, together with the Pere Mata Institute and Casa Rull, also allows you to know and recognize the work by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Like all unique works inspired by new aesthetic currents, Casa Navàs aroused great interest from the beginning of its construction. It filled an emblematic space in the center of the city, it was a work of exhibition and display in which no expense was spared and, beyond the new architectural trends, it integrated all kinds of comforts that, a hundred years ago, constituted luxuries: central heating, bathroom and shower, cold and hot water, electric light... Beyond the architectural singularities, Casa Navàs is also the result of a specific historical period and the existence of a network of relationships between politicians and intellectuals of the bourgeoisie of Reus and Barcelona.
