Celestial Palace.

Phimeanakas - X century.

Phimeanakas is the name of a pyramid that was in the private parts of the Royal Palace (perhaps a temple reserved for the king and his relatives). Tcheou Ta Kouan, the Chinese visitor of the thirteenth century, called it «The Golden Tower» and reports in his writings the following legend which would be attached to it:
« In the palace there is a golden tower at the top of which lies the king. All the natives claim that in the tower there is a snake with nine heads. It appears every night in the form of a woman. It was with her that the king slept first. Even the king’s first wives would not dare enter. If one night the soul of this serpent does not appear is that the hour of the death of the king has come».

The fear, the fear of being assassinated by the ruling elite, both in Rome and in Asia... the stone endures but has no human or spiritual legacy. They were wild. The image is pretty. V
