he Museum of Art and History in Reus occupies the ground floor of building number 13 in Plaça de la Llibertat. It was inaugurated in 1961 - based on a construction project initiated by the Caixa de Pensions - and was declared a "historical-artistic monument" in 1962. At the time, it housed the ethnology, art and archeology materials of the Municipal Museum. It currently presents several permanent exhibitions, such as Ara Toca Festa, about Reus' festive heritage, and L'elixir daurat, about oil production, as well as the Reus and its artists (1850-1939) displays, The collection of Gothic tables from the Antoni Pedrol Rius legacy and The Prioral altarpiece, in addition to the long-term temporary exhibition Things from Reus, a journey from the town to the city.
