As was mentioned last Friday, I spent some time cleaning a couple magazines for my Ruger Mark I. Today I went out to the range for some target shooting. The Mark I operated flawlessly. The magazine cleaning was a success. This is a photo of a shooting position in one of the pistol cells. The distance to the target is 13 yards. That is about right for pistols.
My first pistol shooting back in 1983 was with a .22 single shot Webley target pistol.
We were taught all the basics while shooting one handed, 10 shots per target at 20 yards
After a while I progressed to a Ruger .22 pistol, and learnt to shoot two handed.
When I bought my own pistols I moved up to Full Bore pistols, we shot those at 25 yards, later the ranges went metric, 25 metres.
