Today was a travel day back home from Fredericksburg. Along the way is a Buc-ees which has been a favorite of ours for a long time. Clean rest rooms and fantastic sliced brisket sandwiches are the attractions for us. There is also lots of stuff if you are in a shopping mood. Ginny is always in a shopping mood. She found a great throw pillow that she knew I would like. It fits well with the décor in my office room (see today's photo).

The phrase "Come and Take It" is not unique in history, but in Texas history it refers to what the Texians told the Mexicans at the battle of Gonzales in 1835 when they wanted their cannon back. They even made a flag. The Mexicans had given the cannon to the Texians five years earlier to aid in repulsing Commanche raids. The Battle of Gonzales was considered the beginning of the Texas revolution which ended in 1836 with the victory of Sam Houston and the Texian Army over Santa Ana and the Mexican army.
