Despite all the problems we've been having lately (because of the Black Friday incident), we did manage to get a Christmas tree up and modestly decorated.
I usually go all out for Christmas but had to scale everything back for now. Fortunately, things are slowly improving. The Christmas tree is finally decorated. It may only have only a few ornaments (not the usual, large collections) on it this year, but I think the tree is still pretty anyhow.
My mom says that when she was a little girl, they didn't ever decorate their Christmas tree until Christmas Eve. So, I guess my being "late" isn't totally abnormal.
After airing out most of the soft goods that were in our family room, I have boxed them (with charcoal packs) & moved all away from the continuing problem areas. I probably won't put things back until next Spring when I can let fresh air into the entire house on a daily basis. Daily deep cleaning walls, carpeting, furniture, etc continues. Plus, we have two air purifying machines going day & night in the family room where we spend a lot of time. They're ugly, but they do seem to be helping along with the purified charcoal here & there. I didn't put most of my Christmas decorations out this year.
After Thanksgiving, this has been a strange holiday season for us. Nevertheless, things now do finally feel like Christmas with the little bit of holiday decorating that I have been able to do. And that is good.
