When the florist delivered the above arrangement around 8PM yesterday, the delivery person didn't bother to ring our doorbell. They just left the flowers (unwrapped) on the ground on our front porch out in the cold. It wasn't until several hours later (when I was checking email) that I had any idea they had even arrived. However, an email said that there had been a delivery & the florist wanted us to give them a positive review on the Internet. Hummm??? At that point, my husband had to hunt around outside for the delivery. He finally found the arrangement on the ground away from the house. After sitting outside, the flowers have already started to now show a hint show a hint of brown edges.
Still, despite being left out in the cold, the arrangement does look pretty for Thanksgiving Day. Even if it may not last very long, it will be enjoyed during the holiday. I won't be doing a review for the florist: one way or another. But IMO, they do need to reconsider how they do their deliveries. If I hadn't checked email before bed, we wouldn't have known - until we went out on the front porch the next day - the arrangement was sitting out in the cold on the ground. That could have been disastrous. This was not an inexpensive purchase.
I wonder why the delivery person never rang the doorbell. Flowers are a perishable item. It was cold outside. I know the doorbell works... As she did 3 other times yesterday, Bella barks wildly whenever she hears it!!! She has acute hearing & can even hear someone just on the porch. So, even if we would miss the doorbell, we couldn't possibly miss our "Bella alarm".
Bella is one of the things we are thankful for on this day of Thanksgiving. Plus, Bailey and Chile, who have no interest in the doorbell.

Happy Thanksgiving.
Besides being a day to count our blessings, Thanksgiving unofficially ends Fall
and takes us into the Christmas season.
At our house, my hubby is in charge of the Thanksgiving turkey.
