Bakong Temple is the pyramid/temple-mountain belonging to the
9th century and the state temple of King Indravarman I.
The site consists of an outer moat (barely noticeable today)
delimiting an area that then features an outer enclosure of
laterite, containing a large beautiful moat.It is located about
15 kms south east of the Angkor Wat.
It was the first capital of the khmer Empire.
Above is the top tower originally a Hindu temple, now houses
a deity of Buddha shown below.
