South of the river...

For the November 2022 challenge: Song, Poem, Haiku, Quotation...

The poem is entitled "To Fan Yeh". The poet, Lu K'ai lived in the first half of the 5th century as far as is known, and nothing else is known of him other than he must have been a friend of Fan Yeh, a famous historian. (Information from: The Penguin Book of Chinese Verse, 1962)
